His interventions, located between urban design “Do It Yourself” and upcycling (upgrading waste), have the particularity to be spontaneous and raw, exclusively made with objects found in the street, and always with humor.

Havaianas’ latest off-the-wall idea, Playground, is designed to bring a little bit of childhood joy and happiness into an increasingly tough daily grind. The initiative will transform different European cities into playgrounds full of Brazilian spirit, color and fun.

Every week throughout 2012, pictures taken at events in Madrid, London, Lisbon, Paris and Milan will be published on the Havaianas Europe official Facebook page. City residents, fans of the brand and anyone else who wants to join in will be seen enjoying their city and their Havaianas like big kids out for some fun. The best part? No one knows what a ‘kid’ can have in mind!

We will keep on discovering new crazy, fun and Brazilian spirit pictures with our brand lovers enjoying in their city playgrounds with many different Havaianas products.

The world’s attention has increasingly turned to Brazilian design. Taking all of Havaianas’ spontaneity, the designer Patrick Kampff boards on a unique creative journey together with eighteen other designers to participate in the Heineken Open Design Explorations Edition 1: The Club.

With the task of idealizing, collaborating and producing a pioneer nightclub, each designer will develop a part of the project, presenting a new nightclub concept for clubbers from all places and styles. The pop-up club will open its doors in April during one of the most disputed events in the world: the Milan Design Week.

Representing Brazil, Patrick Kampff’s role will be to create an exclusive model of the Soul Collection sneaker to be the nightclub’s official footwear.

The thirty models developed by the designer carry a futuristic aspect based on silver metallized material combined with handicraft jute.

The name of the festival comes from the fact that during one day (but it can last up to 16 days in the cities where Krishna grew up) people are throwing colored powder and water at each other.

Rather shy at the beginning, everything ends up eventually in a giant mess of mixed colors. You know if a city celebrated it well when days after the ritual, you can still see purple, pink or green stains on people’s clothes, walls or even cows and dogs.
